In Almaty, temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced on several road sections this coming weekend due to the construction of the light rail transit (LRT) system and road repair works, reports infohub.kz.

According to the press service of the Almaty city administration, from 08:00 on August 29 to 16:00 on August 30, traffic will be fully closed on the section of Abylai Khan Avenue from Tole Bi Street to Gogol Street. This is related to the relocation of utility networks as part of the LRT project.

"Warning signs will be placed on the repaired section. We ask you to plan your route in advance," the administration noted.

In addition, during the same weekend, a section of Shaimerdenova Street from Zhandosov Street to Seidimbek Street will be temporarily closed. The restriction will be in effect from 06:00 on August 29 to 13:00 on August 30. This is not related to the LRT construction but to medium-scale road surface repairs.

City authorities urge residents and visitors to plan their trips in advance, taking into account the temporary inconveniences.
