Almaty plans to allocate 150 million tenge for the development of design and estimate documentation for the second metro line from Zhibek Zholy station to the airport. This was announced at a meeting of the city maslikhat by Bauyrzhan Kudaibergenov, head of the Almaty Department of Economics and Finance, according to infohub.kz.
According to him, the Kalkaman station is planned to be put into operation by the end of this year. 1.1 billion tenge is allocated for its launch.
"In addition, this year construction began on the section from Kalkaman station to Barlyk. 243.3 million tenge is provided from the local budget for the project, and another 45 billion tenge has been allocated from the Infrastructure Development Fund. For further expansion of the metro network, 150 million tenge is provided for the development of design and estimate documentation for the second line from Zhibek Zholy station to the airport," said the head of the department.
He noted that along with the development of the metro, work continues on the development of radial directions, internal transport links, and the road network of residential areas.
Thus, 5 billion tenge will be allocated to complete the construction of Ryskulov Avenue to the city boundary. 500 million tenge is allocated for the extension of Mukanov Street from Gogol Street to Raiymbek Avenue, and 5 billion tenge for the extension of Raiymbek Avenue to the Eastern Bypass Road (VOBAD).
"The road infrastructure of residential areas will also be developed. By the end of the year, 2.7 billion tenge will be allocated to complete road construction in the Akzhar microdistrict, and 650 million tenge for road works in the Terekti microdistrict. To ensure stable operation of public transport, an additional 12 billion tenge will be allocated for subsidies. Of this, 10 billion tenge is provided for bus transportation, and 2 billion tenge for metro transportation," the speaker said.
