A passenger was found with a knife and handcuffs during a baggage check at Raiymbek metro station in Almaty, according to the website Infohub.kz. The man was detained and handed over to police.
The suspicious baggage was identified during a screening at Raiymbek metro station. Inside a passenger's bag, officers found a knife and restraints — handcuffs. Police said: "During a joint inspection by metro police and transport security personnel using an X-ray television unit at Raiymbek station, a knife and special equipment — handcuffs — were found in a passenger's bag."
After the discovery, the man was detained and later handed over to officers of the Zhetysu District Police Department for further investigation. The department emphasized: "Currently, an investigation is ongoing. Police are establishing all circumstances of the incident and providing a legal assessment of the detainee's actions."
