Almaty's metro operator posted a net loss of 6.96 billion tenge for 2025, according to infohub.kz.
The company's financial report shows revenue rose 23.2% year-on-year to 2.68 billion tenge, up from 2.17 billion tenge in 2024, but that was not enough to cover expenses.
Cost of services increased to 22.05 billion tenge from 19.94 billion tenge a year earlier, resulting in a gross loss of 19.38 billion tenge, compared with 17.77 billion tenge in 2024.
Other income of 13.6 billion tenge (versus 11.68 billion tenge in 2024) helped narrow the operating loss to 6.96 billion tenge from 8.05 billion tenge the previous year.
After accounting for all income and expenses, the final loss for 2025 stood at 6.96 billion tenge.
The metro's assets grew 8.8% (by 24.3 billion tenge) to 301.5 billion tenge, while liabilities rose 49.7% (by 1.5 billion tenge) to 4.5 billion tenge.
