In the mountains of Almaty, rescuers came to the aid of a Chinese national who injured his leg during a hike, as well as a woman born in 1972 who twisted her ankle while descending, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chinese national was in the area of the Bolshoye Almatinskoye Gorge together with two young women. During the hike, the tourist twisted his leg and was unable to continue on his own.
"A rescue crew was dispatched to the scene from the BAU control and rescue post. During reconnaissance, rescuers located the group on the slope," the ministry said.
The injured man was given first aid and then carried down the slope on a stretcher to an ambulance.
Another similar incident occurred in the mountains of Almaty last evening. In the Medeu district, at the Entuziastov clearing at an altitude of 3,053 meters, rescuers from the Almaty Center for Monitoring and Operational Response, together with the Barys Republican Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, assisted a woman born in 1972.
The tourist also twisted her leg while descending. Rescuers accompanied the woman down and handed her over to a team from the Center for Disaster Medicine.
