An unusual incident occurred in Almaty overnight: an unidentified man smashed the glass window of a beauty salon on Pushkin Street and entered the premises. Witnesses reported the incident, and a patrol crew detained the suspect at the scene, according to infohub.kz.
According to the Almaty Police Department, law enforcement received a signal about a broken window at the beauty salon at 4 a.m.
"Witnesses reported: an unidentified man smashed the window and entered the premises. A patrol crew arrived at the scene. Police detained the suspect right there," the department's statement said.
The detainee was intoxicated. He explained his action unexpectedly: he allegedly bet with a friend that he could break the glass and enter the salon. He managed to see the bet through, but could not avoid the consequences, police noted.
The man was taken to the police station. An investigation is underway, and his actions will be given a legal assessment. The police department added that the man will now have to answer for his nighttime escapade under the law.
