A specialized inter-district administrative court in the Karasai district of the Almaty region has ruled in an administrative case against individuals who appeared in a viral video that spread across social media, infohub.kz reports.
According to case materials, the individuals in the video showed clear disrespect for others while in a public place and committed actions that disrupted public order and disturbed the peace of citizens.
Footage of the stunt quickly spread across the Kazakh internet and drew the attention of law enforcement. During the court hearing, experts and the judge reviewed the case materials and the video itself, giving the individuals' actions an appropriate legal assessment.
The court found the participants in the video guilty of petty hooliganism under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses.
"By court order, the citizens were found guilty under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Kazakhstan. They were given the maximum penalty provided by the sanction of this article — a 10-day administrative arrest," the press service of the Karasai specialized inter-district administrative court said.
The court ruling has not yet entered into force and may be appealed in accordance with the procedure established by law.
