A hotel complex in the Almaty district of Almaty, formerly owned by Kairat Satybaldyuly and transferred by him to the state, has been sold at an electronic auction for 12,384,291,448 tenge — the deal went through only after several attempts, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the e-Qazyna.kz electronic trading portal, the property sold is located at 115 Dosmukhamedov Street. The complex's total area exceeds 16,000 square meters.

The building was listed with a starting price of more than 38.2 billion tenge, with a guarantee deposit of over 1.9 billion tenge and a minimum price set at more than 8.9 billion tenge.

The Department of State Property and Privatization previously said that in August 2023 the hotel was transferred to the state under a gift agreement. In September of that year it was placed on the balance sheet of the judicial administration department.

On September 9, 2026, it became known that the department had listed the former hotel building, which previously belonged to Kairat Satybaldyuly, on the electronic trading portal. The starting price was just over 12.7 billion tenge. However, the first auction did not take place because no participants registered.

In October, the Department of State Property and Privatization again put the hotel complex up for auction — with the price rising 3.2-fold.

In addition, reports circulated online that the building was being demolished. However, in response to a request from a NUR.KZ correspondent, the city akimat said the former hotel was not being demolished.
