Almaty-based photographer Dmitry Dotsenko, known online as dots_foto, has shared a new, more scenic route to Lake Alakol. As it turned out, he traveled through the mountains of the Dzungarian Alatau, bypassing Usharal, and recommends also visiting the Yrgaity River Canyon, Lake Zhalanashkol near the Chinese border, and the reservoir on the Tentek River, reports the website infohub.kz.

Users in the comments thank the photographer for the new beautiful images. “We are discovering Kazakhstan with you!”, “Huge thanks for the opportunity to see such views”, “Thanks to you, many of us are traveling mentally with you. You show us such beautiful places”, wrote Kazakhstani netizens.

At the same time, commenters note that the road through the mountains is in much worse condition than the one through Usharal, although it offers stunning views.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that this summer Alakol is preparing to receive about 2 million tourists — the population of an entire metropolis.
