In Almaty, a vigilant courier contacted police about a suspicious package he was supposed to deliver to a minor, according to infohub.kz.
According to the Almaty Police Department's press service, while completing another order, the delivery worker noticed a suspicious box. The recipient was a teenager. Suspecting that the package might contain illegal items, the courier refused to hand it over and immediately notified police.
Officers who arrived examined the contents of the box. Inside, they found banned electronic smoking devices and related nicotine-containing products. The minor recipient and the sender were taken to a police station. An investigation is underway, with all circumstances being determined.
The courier admitted that his attentiveness was no accident. In the professional delivery community, there is a special chat where colleagues warn each other about possible schemes for transporting prohibited items and urge each other not to remain indifferent to suspicious orders. Police noted that thanks to the courier's responsibility and prompt action, possible distribution of banned products was prevented.
