Police in Almaty have reminded e-scooter owners of the need to strictly follow traffic rules, reports infohub.kz.

Preventive campaigns continue in the city to promote safe use of e-scooters and other personal mobility devices. As noted, the popularity of e-scooters is growing, and with it the responsibility of users to comply with traffic regulations.

"E-scooters have become a common means of transportation, but safety starts with personal responsibility. We regularly encounter situations where two or even three people ride on one scooter, oversized cargo is carried, and traffic rules are ignored," said Rustem Abdigaliyev, deputy head of the department for coordination of preventive work of the Almaty Police Department.

The department reported that despite awareness efforts, police officers continue to detect violations that could lead to road traffic accidents. Officers regularly hold conversations with users of personal mobility devices and explain the requirements of current legislation.

"Such violations significantly increase the risk of road traffic accidents. We urge all users to follow the established rules, respect other road users, and remember that the main goal of all measures taken is to preserve people's lives and health," emphasized Rustem Abdigaliyev.
