Ahead of Kanye West's concert in Almaty this Friday, the city's police have identified several violations related to ticket sales. As Timur Nogaibayev, head of the Public Security Department, stated at a briefing at the regional communications service, law enforcement officers are actively monitoring social media, where they have found offers to sell tickets at a discount. According to him, such individuals were identified and taken to police stations for preventive talks. No fraudulent actions were detected in these cases, but there were instances where citizens who had bought tickets but for some reason could not attend the event resold them at a lower price. Attempts to offer services to let people in without tickets were also stopped, and the relevant posts were removed.
Nogaibayev added that some violators were nevertheless held accountable. "There were cases of bringing to responsibility for publishing deliberately false information, and a fine was imposed. Also, administrative proceedings were initiated for illegal entrepreneurial activity, that is, a person offers ticket sales services without having the necessary permits and not being an entrepreneur. The case materials are being sent to court," the spokesman explained.
In this regard, Almaty police appealed to Kanye West fans with recommendations on how not to become victims of fraudsters when buying tickets.
