A video showing a group of teenagers beating a girl has surfaced on social media, sparking widespread public outcry. The incident, believed to have occurred in Almaty, was reported by infohub.kz.
The footage, shared on Threads and TikTok, shows several individuals holding the schoolgirl down and striking her. Users have linked the conflict to personal animosity. "When will teenage girls realize that beating each other up over some guy is not cool and is shameful," one Kazakh user commented.
The Almaty Police Department stated that the incident was promptly detected during internet monitoring. "During social media monitoring, a publication was identified showing illegal actions by a group of individuals against a minor. A criminal case has been opened by the Nauryzbay District Police Department," the department’s press service said.
Police added that all participants in the incident have now been identified. A range of investigative measures are underway to fully clarify the circumstances. The investigation is being personally monitored by the leadership of the city police department.
