Since the beginning of 2026, law enforcement officers in Almaty have seized 4,270 units of cold steel weighing a total of 235 kilograms from illegal circulation, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the police department, the seized items include knives, batons, and other dangerous objects. In this regard, officers have appealed to residents of the metropolis to comply with the law and not carry such items.
"We especially appeal to young people and students: do not carry such items with the thought 'it might come in handy.' Even an ordinary conflict can escalate into a serious situation and lead to severe consequences. A dangerous object at hand during a quarrel can change the course of events," noted police officer Timur Nogaibayev.
The police reminded that illegal trafficking and carrying of weapons entail liability. "Our goal is not only to suppress offenses but also to prevent them. Follow the law, respect others, and take responsibility for your own safety," emphasized Timur Nogaibayev.
