On August 20, temporary power outages affected the Bostandyk, Medeu, and Almaly districts of Almaty, according to infohub.kz.
Specialists from Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy JSC have been dispatched to the sites to determine the causes and restore power supply. In the Bostandyk district, the outage was recorded at around 15:25. Consumers in the area of the Al-Farabi residential complex, Kargaly microdistrict, and Kenesary Khan Street were temporarily left without electricity.
At approximately 15:30, disruptions occurred in the Medeu district, affecting areas along Shokai, Sarsenbaev, and Shirokaya Shchel Streets. At 16:20, an emergency outage was registered in the Almaly district, impacting sections of Turkebaev, Rozybakiev, Bogenbai Batyr Streets, and Raiymbek Avenue.
According to the interactive map of Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy, the cause of the emergency outage in the Almaly district is being determined. The estimated time for power restoration is within four hours.
Meanwhile, from August 18 to 21, planned maintenance works on power grids are underway in Almaty, which may cause temporary outages in various parts of the city. On August 20, restrictions were scheduled in Karagaily, Kalkaman-2, Shuakty, and Kuanysh, as well as in some blocks of the central part of the city.
The causes of today's disruptions in other districts and the exact timing for full restoration of power supply have not yet been announced. Earlier, Kursiv reported on a large-scale power outage in Almaty caused by a failure in the Central Asian energy system.
