Despite frequent power outages in Almaty and the Almaty region, consumer tariffs will still increase. Why this is happening was explained by the Chairman of the Management Board of KEGOC JSC Nabi Aitzhanov at a briefing in the government, reports the website infohub.kz.
Aitzhanov said that the increase in electricity costs for KEGOC occurred back in May and was related to a change in the price of the single buyer. "Initially, our tariff included 13 tenge, but in fact it has changed, now it is around 30 tenge — the price of the single buyer. It, accordingly, affected the cost of losses," he explained.
The head of KEGOC also spoke about plans for the next five-year period: "The tariff for the next five-year period is planned from October 1, 2026 — a five-year program. It is currently under consideration by the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies. Preliminarily, we see that the average growth will be about 2%. And on average over 5 years, our average tariff will grow by 11-13%. But we don't know the exact figure yet, now the committee is considering it."
Aitzhanov clarified that the figures given relate specifically to KEGOC's tariff, and the final tariff for consumers must be approved by the committee.
