The Almaty prosecutor's office, during an analysis, identified violations of the rights of socially vulnerable citizens to receive discounts on solid household waste removal services, reports infohub.kz.

According to the supervisory authority, following the review of a prosecutorial oversight act, amendments were made on June 10, 2026, to the Almaty maslikhat's decision "On Approval of Tariffs for the Population for the Collection, Transportation, Sorting, and Disposal of Solid Household Waste." The new provisions introduce discounts for certain categories of citizens.

In particular, World War II veterans are fully exempt from paying for solid waste removal services. For persons equated to them, individuals with first-group disabilities, childhood disabilities, parents and legal representatives of children with disabilities, as well as orphans, a 50% discount is established.

For individuals with second-group disabilities and other socially vulnerable categories of citizens, a 25% discount is provided.

To receive these discounts, one must contact the organizations that carry out solid household waste removal at the addresses provided by the Almaty prosecutor's office.

The Almaty city prosecutor's office reminded that ensuring and protecting citizens' rights remain one of the priority areas of the prosecutor's office's activities.
