In the Auezov district of Almaty, the improvement of a public space in the Altyn Besik microdistrict has been completed. The 1-hectare area was renovated under the 'Participatory Budgeting' project, reports infohub.kz.
On the site along Trudovaya Street, a large and a small football field, a basketball court, a workout zone, and a modern children's play complex have been installed. Walking paths, new benches, and street lighting have also been added.
As part of landscaping, 30 trees and 300 shrubs were planted, and an automatic irrigation system was installed. For the safety of residents, the area has been equipped with video surveillance cameras.
The renovated space is designed for both sports and family recreation: children, youth, and adult residents of the microdistrict can spend time here.
In 2026, within the framework of 'Participatory Budgeting', 29 projects for the improvement of courtyard areas and public spaces will be implemented in the Auezov district.
Earlier, 'Kursiv' reported that Almaty has begun improving the area near the Kazakhfilm film studio. There, they plan to create a themed public space dedicated to the history of Kazakh cinema, with modern recreation areas and elements related to domestic cinematography.
