A new QADAM park is being built on the site of a former parking lot in Almaty's Auezov district, with the public space set to open by the end of October, according to infohub.kz.
According to the city administration of Kazakhstan's southern capital, Almaty akim Darhan Satybaldy inspected the construction progress during a working tour of the park, which will be located at the intersection of Saina and Ulugbek streets.
The akimat said a modern 0.35-hectare park is being created on the site of the former parking lot. It will become a new space for recreation, walks and active leisure for residents of the district.
The park will feature a tactile alley with various natural surfaces, a children's playground, a running track, areas for skating and parkour, walking spaces and landscaping.
One of its central elements will be an arch composition with a fountain, lighting and the inscription "Step into the Future." The QADAM concept, it is noted, is built on a combination of movement, different textures, sound, water and light.
