In Almaty, the mother of a woman with disabilities has accused an unknown man from Shymkent of raping her daughter. According to the woman, the suspect met 26-year-old Ainel online in March, called a taxi for her, and assaulted her in a rented apartment, KTK reports.
The mother said her daughter was held in the apartment for a full day and raped three times. "It's just torture: there were tears, hematomas. He admits he raped her, yes, but says it was consensual. How can it be consensual if my child is not right in the head? She's like a little child. She watches cartoons, can't read, doesn't know time," the woman said tearfully.
Ainel has been diagnosed with epilepsy and intellectual disability since childhood. She cannot orient herself in space, read, or write. The woman met the 23-year-old man in an online game. He traveled from Shymkent for the date.
Ainel herself said the taxi driver took her to where the man was waiting. He ordered sushi and juice, they watched a movie, then he turned off the TV. "He took my hands, bit my neck. I wanted to call my mom. He turned off my phone. Locked the door. I banged on the wall and screamed. But no one heard," she said.
The mother immediately took her to a doctor. Medics confirmed the assault, the woman maintains. Police opened a criminal case but closed it after three months of investigation.
Saltaanat Azirbek, official representative of the Almaty Police Department, commented: "The victim's claims were not confirmed. In accordance with the requirements of the criminal procedure legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the criminal case was closed due to the absence of a criminal offense. The district prosecutor's office, as a supervisory authority, agreed with this decision and deemed it lawful."
