In the Almaty Region, 95 km of roads will be built to the picturesque alpine pastures of Shalkode, Shubartal, Baiynkol and Kokkemer. Some sections will be completed by the end of this year, while the final projects are set to finish by 2027, according to infohub.kz.
At the entrance to the Kokkemer pasture, a medium repair of a 21-kilometer road section is underway. It involves 10 pieces of equipment and 25 specialists. To date, 30% of the work has been completed, and the repair is planned to be finished next year.
Paving asphalt to the Kokkemer pasture will also ease access to the Tekes waterfall, which is located at an altitude of 3,600 meters above sea level.
The medium repair of the road at the entrance to the well-known Shalkode pasture covers 32.5 km. 26 km of the road are already ready for asphalt paving, 10 culverts have been replaced, and 4 km of asphalt pavement has been laid. More than half of the improvement work has been completed, and the full repair will be finished by the end of the year.
"The Shubartal pasture also holds significant potential for tourism development. A 28.5-km road is being built here," the regional akimat added.
A 13-kilometer road section is being laid to the Baiynkol valley. The reconstruction is 30% complete. Parking areas will be arranged along the road. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
The regional administration expects that the implementation of these projects will give an impetus to the development of tourism in the region.
