The volume of exports of agricultural products from the Almaty region exceeded $491 million in 2025, with agricultural goods and processed products shipped to more than 50 countries worldwide. Over 60% of the region's total exports consist of agricultural products and processed goods, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture, the Almaty region remains a leading export-oriented agricultural region in the country. The most in-demand products on foreign markets include meat, poultry, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and beverages produced by local enterprises.
Major producers contribute significantly to the region's export potential. They supply ice cream to China, Saudi Arabia, and CIS countries; tomatoes and freeze-dried products to the Russian market; and juices, soft drinks, and tea products to large foreign retail chains.
"Overall, agricultural products from the Almaty region are exported to more than 50 countries. In addition to Central Asia and the CIS, Kazakh producers ship their goods to Germany, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan," the ministry said.
Uzbekistan remains one of the region's most important trade partners. "Over the past three years, exports to this country have nearly doubled, from $110 million to $203 million. The most sought-after products on the Uzbek market are flour and dairy products," the Ministry of Agriculture explained.
Regional officials note that steady growth in export figures has been made possible through comprehensive modernization of production facilities, investment attraction, adoption of modern technologies, and implementation of state support measures for the agricultural sector. These efforts are helping to further expand the geography of supplies and strengthen the position of Kazakh products on international markets, opening new opportunities for the Almaty region's export potential.
