Authorities in the Almaty Region have taken measures against the parents of a 17-year-old girl who ran away from home and lived in Karaganda. Measures will also be taken against the teenager herself, according to infohub.kz.
According to KTK television channel, following the recent runaway, a delegation of human rights advocates, police officers, officials and a psychologist visited the family. The purpose of the visit was to determine the true reasons why the child left home.
During the conversation, the teenager said she wanted to live separately and independently.
"We will place the girl and the family as a whole under supervision: we will conduct constant monitoring. We will review the matter extensively and collectively, and only if the commission deems it appropriate will we place her in a center for the adaptation of minors," said Azamat Zhandosov, deputy akim of the Karasai district.
The girl's mother was clearly unhappy about the special commission's visit. She also forbade journalists from showing her daughter's face. After the incident, the family will be placed under supervision. Child rights advocates are currently deciding the girl's further education.
"We came immediately to personally make sure the child is all right. Now, as a full commission, we will consider the girl's further education in a specialty. In addition, psychologists will work with the teenager," noted Madiyar Sharapov, chief specialist of the Almaty Region Department for the Protection of Children's Rights.
Recall that the 17-year-old girl disappeared on the night of July 21. She packed her belongings, took her savings and left home in the village of Dolan in the Almaty Region. It recently became known that the teenager was found. It turned out that she had been in Karaganda all along — working as a nanny at a private kindergarten and renting an apartment.
