Emergency services in Almaty were alerted late at night following a report of a potential threat to the life of a woman and her six children, reports infohub.kz.
According to the city police department, the distress call was received at the 102 dispatch center. It was reported that in a private home in the Alatau district, a woman was in a severe emotional state following a family dispute.
"Patrol officers, juvenile police, a district inspector, and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene immediately. In the house were the woman and her six children. The primary goal of the responding officers was to ensure the family's safety and prevent a tragedy. The police managed to calm the woman, after which the children, accompanied by juvenile police, were taken to the Alatau District Police Department," the department said.
The department added that the family is currently receiving necessary assistance. Psychologists, representatives of relevant government services, and non-governmental organizations have been involved.
Almaty police reminded that in difficult life situations, it is important not to face the problem alone and to seek help in a timely manner, as this can save lives.
