A resident of Almaty has been held administratively liable for spreading false information about military conscription on social media, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, on July 17, the Almaty resident posted a video on Facebook claiming that citizens could be drafted into the army even if they had medical conditions.
Following a joint investigation with competent authorities, it was established that the information was false. On August 15, the author of the post was brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The ministry reminded that a citizen's fitness for military service is determined by a medical examination, taking into account their health status and established requirements.
Thus, claims about the possibility of conscription without considering health status do not align with the established procedure. Spreading false information may lead to liability as provided by law. We recommend obtaining information about conscription, medical examinations, and other military service matters only from official sources. Verify information and do not spread unverified claims, the ministry added.
