In Almaty and the Almaty region, 29 residential complexes risk being left without electricity due to accumulated debts. As of June 1, 2026, consumer debt for electricity reached 34 billion tenge, creating serious risks for the region's energy system, reports infohub.kz.
As explained in the branch of JSC "Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy" - "Energosbyt", such a significant amount of debt hinders timely payments for electricity, its transmission, and the provision of necessary capacity. In this regard, starting June 8, after the end of the autumn-winter period, the company began to limit electricity supply to consumers with overdue debts. At the same time, consumers must be notified in advance before disconnection.
The company reminded of the norm of the Rules for the Use of Electrical Energy: "The energy transmitting organization, upon the request of the energy supply organization, has the right to fully or partially stop the supply of electrical energy to the consumer in the absence of payment or incomplete payment for consumed electrical energy within the time limits established by the contract, provided that the consumer is notified in advance."
Among the residential complexes in Almaty, the largest debt was accumulated by the residential complex "Alma City" - 306.2 million tenge. The residential complex "Shugyla" has a debt of 175.4 million, "Zhas Kanat" - 122.9 million, "Alatau City" - 105.4 million tenge. Next are the residential complexes "Crystal" with a debt of 82 million tenge, "Adel" - 73.6 million, Alem City - 71.6 million, Qargaly City - 54.6 million, and "12 months" - 48.6 million tenge. The list also includes "Miras", Esentai City, Dragon City, "House on Abaya", "Ozhet", "Altyn Bulak-1", AFD Plaza, "Khan Tengri", "13 microdistrict", "Amal", and Rams Luxury. The debt of the Ermensai microdistrict is separately indicated.
In the Almaty region, the largest amount among the published list was owed by the residential complex Medeu City - 93.5 million tenge. Altin City accumulated 43.9 million, Gres Park - 37.2 million, Tamarix - 34 million tenge. The list also includes "Ashyk tobe", "Dostar", "Almatau", Aspan City-2, and Galamat.
In "Energosbyt", they separately addressed the OSI, KSK, and management companies that collect utility payments from residents, urging them to transfer money to energy suppliers in a timely manner. In addition to power outages, debts can be collected through court with subsequent enforcement of the court decision.
