While festival-goers at Park Live near Pervomayskiye Ponds searched for parking, local residents seized the opportunity to profit from the influx of cars. Homeowners began renting out spare space on their properties for parking, reports infohub.kz.
Park Live took place from August 21 to 23 at Pervomayskiye Ponds. The festival drew tens of thousands of attendees, with headliners including Gorillaz, The Offspring, and Jack White.
Parking near the venue proved to be a major challenge for guests. With so many cars, free spots quickly filled up, and some residents of nearby homes found a way to profit from the demand.
As seen in footage, children and teenagers stood on the street holding homemade signs reading "Parking" and offered drivers available spots. Prices ranged from 3,000 to 5,000 tenge.
Those who opted for a taxi after the concert also faced difficulties. According to festival-goers, ride prices surged significantly after the shows, with some drivers asking up to 30,000 tenge per car. Others offered rides for 3,000-5,000 tenge per person.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that headliner Gorillaz performed at Park Live. However, Kazakh netizens were not only discussing the concert but also the appearance of the band's vocalist and founder, Damon Albarn.
