A resident of one of Almaty's residential complexes posted a video on the social network Threads showing brown water flowing from a tap. The author of the video is outraged by the quality of the water supply and wonders when clean water will be provided, reports infohub.kz.
"When will the water supply finally be fixed? When can we wash with clean water? After this water, skin and hair become stiff and rough," the woman wrote.
Other residents of the complex also commented under the post, noting that such water ruins clothes during washing. One user compared the liquid to chocolate paste: "This is the water we get. We just pour it out, waiting for this muck resembling Nutella to finally go away."
The company "Almaty Su" commented on the situation. According to the water utility, no planned or emergency repair works were carried out on city networks and water supply facilities in the area that could affect water quality. As a result of an on-site inspection, specialists found no deviations in the quality of cold water in the specified residential complex.
"Almaty Su" added that the centralized water supply system of Almaty operates normally. Water treatment and disinfection, as well as laboratory quality control at water treatment facilities and main networks, are carried out around the clock. No exceedances of sanitary norms or deviations from standards have been recorded.
