In Almaty, by the start of the school year, medium repairs were completed on 15 main streets, and deadlines for completing work on other facilities were set, reports the website infohub.kz.
This year, the southern capital plans to cover 340 streets with medium repairs, totaling 250 kilometers. As noted by the city akimat, this will bring the share of roads in good and satisfactory condition to 95%.
According to the Road Infrastructure Development Department, as of September 1, repairs were completed on sections of 15 main streets with a total length of 32 kilometers. These include Zenkov, Zhamakaev, Zhetysu, Shemyakin, Mambetov, Ryskulbekov, ZhanKozha Batyr, Iskendirov, Akan Sery, Manas, Gabdullin, Zhandosov, Tsentralnaya, Ushkempirov streets, and the Kuldzha tract.
In addition, on sections of Zhubanov, Otegen Batyr streets, as well as Altynsarin and Abai avenues, the lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement has already been laid. This coming weekend, the upper layer of dense crushed stone-mastic asphalt concrete mixture is planned to be laid, after which road markings will be applied. The akimat emphasized that medium repairs include renewing the pavement across the entire width of the roadway, as well as repairing damaged sections of sidewalks and aryk trays.
Special attention is paid to streets of district significance. In Alatau district, medium repairs will cover 99 streets this year, in Auezov - 16, in Nauryzbai - 19, in Bostandyk - 39, in Turksib - 21, in Zhetysu - 44, in Medeu - 78, in Almaly - 1. To date, work is 70% complete, with full completion planned by October 31.
In addition, the department continues construction of new roads in the microdistricts of Akzhar, Boraldai, and Rakhat-Madeniet, totaling 96 kilometers, of which more than 80% is already ready.
