Over the past weekend, police in Almaty identified hundreds of traffic violations, with special attention paid to drivers of mopeds, scooters, and other personal mobility devices, reports infohub.kz.
Preventive raids continue in the metropolis, aimed at reducing accidents and curbing serious traffic violations. According to the police department, 3 mopeds, 298 scooters, 1 electric bicycle, and 1 motorcycle were placed in impound lots.
In the Zhetysu district of the city, 152 traffic violations were recorded, some related to vehicle operation and passenger transportation.
Deputy Chief of the Almaty Police Department Galym Sargulov emphasized: "Road safety directly depends on the discipline of each road user. Therefore, our task is to timely identify violations that could lead to accidents and prevent their consequences. Control will continue on an ongoing basis, especially in areas with high traffic intensity and where increased accident rates are recorded. We urge drivers to strictly follow traffic rules, not to risk their own lives and the safety of others."
