A security guard at a residential complex in Almaty has been handed a 10-day administrative arrest for aggressive behavior toward a driver at the entrance barrier, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the Almaty Police Department, a security service employee who refused to let a car into the residential complex and sparked a row at the barrier was arrested today.

The incident took place at a residential complex in the city's Nauryzbai district. Video footage of the guard's aggressive behavior spread across social media.

Police say the driver pulled up to the entrance of the complex, but the guard refused to let him through. A verbal altercation broke out between the two men. The security employee behaved aggressively, raised his voice and used obscene language.

The actions of the 54-year-old guard were found to show signs of petty hooliganism. A court sentenced him to 10 days of administrative arrest.

"Status, position or place of work do not give anyone the right to disturb public order. Liability is provided for unlawful behavior," the Police Department said.
