Almaty and Shanghai have reached an agreement on joint efforts to support people with special needs. Following a visit by a Chinese delegation, a memorandum is being prepared that will allow Almaty specialists to learn advanced rehabilitation methods at a clinic in China, infohub.kz reports.
According to the Almaty akimat, a delegation from Shanghai arrived in the city as part of an exchange of experience in medical and social rehabilitation of people with special needs.
The guests visited the Regional Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics at City Hospital No. 4, where they were shown approaches to providing medical care and rehabilitation for patients with musculoskeletal diseases and injuries.
The delegation also visited the "Meiirim" rehabilitation center, where they learned about practices for rehabilitation and support of children and their families.
On employment matters, the City Labor Mobility Center presented its tools for career guidance, job placement assistance, and individual support. This included the Job Coach approach, which helps individuals adapt to the workplace.
Following the visit, the parties agreed to prepare a cooperation memorandum providing for the exchange of experience, joint initiatives, and professional development for specialists in social rehabilitation.
Under this document, Almaty doctors are expected to gain practical experience at Shanghai's "Yangzhi" Rehabilitation Hospital. Joint seminars and training are also planned.
Earlier, "Kursiv" reported that home rehabilitation for children with disabilities will be launched in four more regions of Kazakhstan.
