Construction has begun on an observation deck on Al-Farabi Avenue in Almaty, with the first images from the site appearing on social media, according to infohub.kz.

A local resident shared photos of the construction site. Machinery is currently at work, and cascading staircases with ramps are being installed. The future location is situated at the beginning of the avenue, near Terrenkur. Previously, the site was an ordinary slope above a tunnel with fencing.

The akim of Medeu district previously spoke about plans to improve the area. According to him, the aim is to create a full-fledged public space with a panoramic view of the city, landscaping, walking routes, and recreation areas.

Judging by AI renderings prepared by the akimat, the site is planned to feature several swings, seating areas with panoramic views, and a café. The visualizations also show a separate corner for couples.

The city administration has not yet disclosed the completion timeline.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle wrote about the project for Almaty's first Japanese park. Work is planned to be completed in December. The official opening of the garden for Almaty residents is scheduled for March 2027, coinciding with the start of cherry blossom season.
