Police in Almaty have detained six suspects after receiving a report of a group of young men armed with knives. One person was stabbed during the altercation, according to the website infohub.kz.
The nighttime incident occurred in the Aksai microdistrict. A call to the emergency number 102 reported a group of young men carrying knives. Officers arrived promptly and determined that a young man had been stabbed during the conflict.
"The crew 'Buran-308' quickly detained six young men who may be linked to the incident," police said. The suspects were taken to the Auezov District Police Department. Blood-like stains were found on some of their clothing, and items relevant to the investigation were seized.
Investigators are now reconstructing the full sequence of events. They must determine the cause of the conflict, each participant's role, and identify the person who inflicted the knife wound.
"The pre-trial investigation continues," police added.
