In Almaty, on August 14, due to the concert of American rapper Kanye West (YE), traffic will be restricted in the area of the Central Stadium. The city's akimat has published a list of streets that will be closed, reports infohub.kz.
As reported by the Almaty akimat, on the day of the concert, which will take place at the Central Stadium, special measures will be organized for the safety and transport accessibility of spectators. The main focus is on public transport: after the event, guests will be taken home by 60 free shuttle buses along six city routes.
For the convenience of spectators, buses will run from the Central Stadium to the following points: Almaty Arena — 10 buses; Raiymbek batyr / Alatau metro station — 10 buses; Almaty-1 railway station — five buses; Orbita — five buses; Zholdyz microdistrict — 10 buses; Almaty International Airport — 10 buses.
In addition, the operation of public transport and the metro will be enhanced. The Baikonur metro station will close for passengers at 21:00. Concertgoers are advised to use the Abai and Mukhtar Auezov Theater stations. The metro will operate until at least 01:00, and if necessary, until 03:00.
Due to the concert and security measures, from 16:00 there will be a gradual restriction of traffic in the area of the Central Stadium. The following streets will be closed: Abai Avenue, Baitursynov Street, and Satpayev Street.
"Some sections may be closed earlier by decision of security services. Police officers will be on duty to ensure traffic control and help avoid congestion," the akimat reported.
Residents and guests of Almaty are advised to plan their routes in advance, use public transport if possible, and take into account temporary traffic restrictions in the city center.
Recall that on July 17, information appeared about Kanye West's concert in Almaty. Initially, his manager Joseph Carré announced it, and later the Almaty akimat confirmed that the concert would take place on August 14 at 21:00 at the Central Stadium.
The police also reported that scammers are selling fake tickets online. Today, the Almaty police addressed Kanye West fans with recommendations on how to avoid becoming victims of fraud when buying tickets.
