In Almaty, a local resident spotted a woman with her hands tied and no shoes on the street — according to the witness, she had barely managed to run out of the house, and it later emerged that her own son had been tying her up, reports infohub.kz.
Information about the woman in that condition was published on the Telegram channel "Letters to the President." According to the post, the son was punishing his own mother for allegedly interfering in his family life.
A NUR.KZ correspondent asked the press service of the Almaty Police Department for comment. Officials there said an investigation had been launched.
"The woman's identity has been established; she is currently at the police station and is giving explanations. At the same time, no complaints had previously been filed with the police regarding this matter," the department said.
It is noted that all circumstances of the incident are now being investigated — based on the results, a legal assessment will be made and appropriate measures will be taken.
