In Almaty, taxi drivers have begun refusing passengers who choose cashless payment for rides. Kazakhstanis are sharing such accounts on social media, and Kursiv LifeStyle sought clarification from the Yandex Go service, according to infohub.kz.

Drivers explain their stance by saying they may not receive electronic payment for a completed order at all, or may receive it with a significant delay. They cite disruptions in Yandex's operations following strikes on the company's data centers. At first glance, finding a compromise seems easy—pay in cash or by bank transfer. However, as they say, the devil is in the details.

Passengers who travel for work using corporate taxis have been caught in the middle: they will have to pay for rides out of their own pockets. There are also cases where drivers themselves refuse to accept transfers from a particular bank.

Users on social media are urging each other to be kinder and accommodate drivers, since they need to support their families and at least pay for fuel. However, drivers do not always calmly explain the situation or are ready to seek a compromise. Meanwhile, Yandex Qazaqstan says that payment issues in the Yandex Go app have already been resolved.

“Information that the company cannot pay out money is not accurate. Cashless payments work in the app, and withdrawal of funds for drivers also works. Pay in the way that is convenient for you,” Yandex Qazaqstan commented.

Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle wrote that Kazakhstanis are looking for alternatives to Yandex taxi after large-scale disruptions in the company's data centers.
