A teenage girl has been detained in Almaty on suspicion of distributing drugs through hidden caches, reports infohub.kz.
In the Medeu district, officers from the drug enforcement unit stopped a taxi carrying three underage girls.
According to operational data, one of them may have been involved in drug distribution. During a search, she was found with numerous bundles wrapped in colored tape. Inside were plant-based substances and, according to preliminary data, synthetic drugs in crystalline form.
Police reported that the detainee confessed to distributing banned substances and said she had left them in caches.
The investigation will determine whether the other two girls knew about the alleged illegal activity and whether they could have been involved.
Law enforcement is also investigating who recruited the minor into drug distribution, how the scheme was organized, and why the girl sought income in this way.
"Special attention will be paid to her upbringing conditions, as well as the role of parents and close associates," police said.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a 29-year-old man was detained in the Medeu district of Almaty on suspicion of drug distribution through caches. The suspect was placed in a temporary detention facility, and police began identifying the supply channel, the scheme's organizer, and other possible participants.
