In Almaty, the investigation into the high-profile murder of a 12-year-old boy, who died in June this year, continues. The city's police department has reported on the current stage of the criminal case, according to infohub.kz.
Saltanat Azirbek, official representative of the Almaty Police Department, said that the case is being handled by the Investigation Department. A criminal case has been opened on the murder charge, and the suspect was detained immediately. Currently, a range of investigative measures are being carried out to ensure the completeness, comprehensiveness, and objectivity of the investigation. The pre-trial investigation is accompanied by several expert examinations, which take time.
Azirbek added that after all procedural actions are completed, the case materials will be sent to court according to jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Timur Nogaybayev, head of the Public Security Department, reported that since the beginning of the year, the police have placed 318 teenagers and 326 disadvantaged families on preventive registration. The department's officers conduct targeted work and home visits with these families on a daily basis.
Recall that earlier it was reported that a conflict between teenagers in Almaty ended in the death of a 12-year-old boy — the child sustained multiple stab wounds.
