Weighing and dimension control systems for freight vehicles will be installed at the entrances to Almaty, and traffic will be partially restricted during the installation of the equipment, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the city akimat's press service, the new complexes are needed to ensure proper control over the passage of oversized freight transport.
Because of the installation work, partial traffic restrictions are being introduced on the highways. From October 19 to November 19, reversible traffic will be organized on a 200-meter section of the Kuldzha highway from the city limits toward Bukhtarminskaya Street.
In addition, during the same period, reversible traffic will be introduced on a 200-meter section of the Ili highway from the city limits toward Suyunbay Avenue.
Road users are asked to comply with temporary road signs and speed limits and to plan their routes in advance.
The timing of the repair work may be adjusted depending on weather conditions and other factors affecting the technological process, the statement notes.
