Over the past weekend, on August 3 and 4, more than 3,341 traffic violations were recorded in Almaty. Among them, 14 drivers were found under the influence of alcohol, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Almaty prosecutor's office, 190 of the total violations are classified as gross, posing an increased threat to the life and health of road users.
The identified violations include 14 cases of driving under the influence. Additionally, three motorists drove without a valid driver's license. Other violations include: 158 cases of dangerous maneuvering, including so-called "checkerboard" lane changes; 2 cases of using fake license plates; 115 drivers and passengers not wearing seat belts; 13 instances of driving into oncoming traffic; and 89 people using mobile phones while driving.
The prosecutor's office also noted that 122 vehicles were impounded and taken to a special parking lot.
