Six sets of triplets have been born in Almaty since the start of the year, and a 27-year-old city resident recently became the mother of three sons at once, infohub.kz reports.
The boys were born at City Perinatal Center No. 2. The family now has four sons — the eldest child is four years old.
The pregnancy was trichorionic triamniotic: each baby developed separately, with its own placenta and amniotic sac. The delivery was performed by cesarean section.
The newborns weighed between 1,740 and 1,978 grams and measured 34 to 37 centimeters. Their parents named them Omar, Miras and Muslim.
According to the city public health department, after birth one of the babies needed more intensive respiratory support in the first days and spent two days on mechanical ventilation. All three are now receiving CPAP therapy, and their condition is being monitored dynamically. Doctors note improvement.
The mother said the first minutes after her sons' birth were especially anxious for her.
"When I first saw my babies, I worried and cried because they seemed so small and weak. But the center's staff supported me very much, helped me, including psychologically. I want to thank the doctors and all the staff from the bottom of my heart for their care, attention and support," she said.
The babies remain under constant observation by specialists at City Perinatal Center No. 2.
According to the department, since the start of 2026, 603 sets of twins and six sets of triplets have been born in Almaty.
