New water supply and wastewater tariffs take effect in Almaty on October 1. According to NUR.KZ, citing Almaty Su, residents of the metropolis will pay 178.06 tenge per cubic meter of water, including value-added tax, reports infohub.kz.
Almaty Su's rates depend directly on the consumer category. For households, water supply will cost 178.06 tenge per cubic meter, and wastewater disposal 119.46 tenge.
Businesses face a higher tariff. Legal entities will pay 362.18 tenge per cubic meter for water and 264.75 tenge for wastewater. Combined, the two services will cost businesses 626.93 tenge per cubic meter.
A separate rate applies to government institutions and enterprises, as well as organizations where the state owns at least half of the voting shares or participatory interests. "For this category, a cubic meter of water will cost 649.60 tenge including VAT, and wastewater disposal 189.14 tenge. In total, 838.74 tenge per cubic meter," the website says.
Wastewater costs for consumers without meters are calculated separately. "For cold water disposal, the tariff will be 1,791.85 tenge per person per month, and for hot water 376.29 tenge. For residents of dilapidated and emergency housing and dormitories where meter installation is technically impossible, this service will cost 641.48 tenge per person. For a person without a meter, domestic cold water supply together with cold water disposal will amount to 4,462.75 tenge per month including VAT," Almaty Su's table states.
A separate norm has also been set for watering gardens, lawns, flower beds, and trees. From October 1, it will be 1,780.60 tenge including VAT per month per one hundred square meters of irrigated area.
Note that the irrigation season lasts six months, from April 15 to October 15. Watering is permitted from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
