A traffic accident involving a water truck occurred on Saina Street in Almaty, caused by a cyclist's falling helmet. This is reported by infohub.kz.
The incident was captured on video that appeared on social media. As eyewitnesses noted, the situation could have ended in tragedy: the water truck suddenly crashed into a metal fence right in the flow of traffic.
Details of the incident were later announced by the press service of the Almaty Police Department. According to the official statement, the footage shows an electric bicycle rider losing his helmet while moving and stopping to pick it up. The flow of cars then stops. At that moment, the water truck driver fails to brake in time. Trying to avoid a collision, he swerves and hits a metal fence. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The circumstances of the incident are currently being established.
The Almaty Police Department also added: "This case once again reminds us: on the road, the situation can change in a matter of seconds — so it is important to keep your distance and be ready for a sudden maneuver ahead."
