Unfavorable meteorological conditions are forecast for Almaty on July 21, reports infohub.kz.

Specialists from Kazhydromet explained that unfavorable meteorological conditions occur when calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deteriorating air quality.

Forecasters warn that during such periods, the risk of negative health impacts increases, especially for people with chronic illnesses. Wind speed, precipitation, humidity, and temperature all affect the level of air pollution.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other pollution sources. Children and pregnant women are recommended to avoid long walks. People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, should keep necessary medications on hand. Specialists recommend limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving exercise indoors.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the weather in Kazakhstan will sharply deteriorate on July 21: a northwestern cyclone will bring rain and thunderstorms to most of the country, with heavy downpours, hail, squally winds, and dust storms in some areas.
