Police in the Almaty Region have identified and punished another participant in a scandalous wedding convoy, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the information portal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, search efforts established that a 22-year-old Almaty resident was in Shymkent. A court ordered him held under administrative arrest for 10 days.

Investigators determined that it was the Almaty resident who offered a $600 reward to the driver who would be the first to follow the lead car. The convoy's participants then committed a series of serious traffic violations on public roads, endangering the lives and safety of citizens.

Recall that after a scandalous video circulated on social media, the wedding convoy's participants were held liable under Part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (petty hooliganism).

Police noted that the three main offenders — the drivers of a Toyota Land Cruiser, a VAZ and a Mercedes-Benz — are residents of the Karasai district. They were arrested for 10 days.
