Almaty police have identified a woman who used her dog against passersby during a street conflict. Footage of the incident circulated on social media, according to infohub.kz.
Several days ago, it was reported that Almaty police had launched an investigation after a video appeared on social media showing a woman throwing her dog at a passerby during a conflict.
Today, the press service of the Almaty Police Department told a NUR.KZ correspondent what measures were taken after the woman in the video, which sparked widespread public outcry, was identified.
"Police determined that the woman is registered at a psychoneurological clinic. She has now been taken to a specialized medical facility to receive the necessary care," the police said.
The Almaty Police Department added that an investigation into the incident is ongoing. All circumstances of the incident are being established, including actions concerning the animal. A corresponding legal assessment will be given based on the results, the press service assured.
