In Almaty, police have stopped the activities of a woman suspected of drug distribution, reports infohub.kz.
The Almaty Police Department on its Instagram page reported the seizure of 2.5 kg of drugs and hundreds of prepared stashes. The special operation was carried out in the Turksib district, where a woman was detained who, according to police, may have acted as a "warehouse" in the drug sales scheme.
"During a personal search, a mobile phone was found on her. The main finds were in the car. Police seized 50 bundles with the substance, as well as several large packages with a powdery substance. The total weight of the seized items was 2.5 kg. In addition, zip-lock bags and duct tape were found - everything needed for packaging and preparing drugs for further sale," police said.
The Almaty Police Department added that after her arrest, the woman pointed out locations of previously made caches. As a result, operatives found and seized another 150 bundles with a presumably narcotic substance.
"According to preliminary data, the detainee was involved in illegal drug trafficking. Her role was to receive large batches, store, package, and prepare so-called 'master caches' for subsequent transfer to couriers. The seized substances have been sent for forensic examination," police clarified.
A criminal case has been opened on this fact.
