A new 400-square-meter youth community center has opened in Almaty's Auezov district to mark City Day. It features a recording studio, a dance hall, robotics and 3D modeling zones, a digital content creation space, and educational and advisory areas. All facilities are available to young people free of charge, according to infohub.kz.
Deputy Akim of Almaty Abzal Nukenov toured the new space. The opening continues the development of a network of youth centers supported by Almaty Akim Darkhan Satybaldy. To date, 12 such venues operate across all districts of the city.
"It is important that the youth center be not just a venue for events, but a space where a young person can learn, grow and implement their own ideas," Abzal Nukenov noted.
One of the new center's offerings will be the "AI Creator" course, which will teach young people to use artificial intelligence in content creation—from idea and script to visuals, sound and editing. About 20 people have signed up for the first cohort.
The recording studio will allow songs and podcasts to be recorded, the dance hall will host workshops, and the content zone will be used for photo and video shoots. In the robotics and 3D modeling zone, a "Wish Tree" with an apple—one of Almaty's symbols—was created for the opening.
The opening day also launched the ALMATY 24 sagat video contest. Within 24 hours, participants must shoot a short video about the city, their district, favorite places and people.
"It is important to us that every young person have the opportunity to find their path—gain a new skill, try their hand at technology, creativity, or launch their own project," commented Aziz Kazhdenbek, head of the Almaty youth policy department.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 10,600 young Almaty residents have received assistance at community centers with employment and career guidance, as well as psychological and legal consultations. Under the "Law and Order" track, about 190 events were held with over 18,000 participants, while more than 80 environmental campaigns under "Taza Qazaqstan" brought together over 10,000 young citizens.
