Starting November 2, Almaty residents can apply to receive up to 10 free deciduous tree saplings as part of the Green Yard campaign. The planting material is intended for landscaping courtyards of apartment buildings and other public areas, the website infohub.kz reports.
The Almaty Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection announced the initiative. Participants must commit to caring for the planted trees for three years.
Applications are accepted from November 2 through November 15, 2026, inclusive, by email at zhasyl.aula2026@mail.ru.
To take part, applicants must provide their full name, contact details, the exact address of the proposed planting site and the number of trees needed. They should also attach several photos of the chosen location, preferably panoramic, so specialists can assess the planting site. Applications without photos will not be considered.
Saplings are scheduled to be distributed on November 21-22 at 155a Tazhibayeva Street.
After planting, participants must send a photo report of the trees they have planted.
The campaign does not apply to residents of individual housing construction plots located along individual housing construction roads, or to legal entities.
